Communication on a coffee evening!

Hi all,
Two days back I was having samosas in the restaurant nearby our office. (Its the same old and famous canteen which is there in Sakthi Towers for years together). When I was coming out I was paying cash and suddenly wanted to have a toffee! It was not a famous brand and even I was reading the name for the first time. At the same time it just grabbed my attention through the packaging design. (As a man from advertising fraternity, it is quite usual but not for a common man. So he was starring at me)

The toffee is a coffee flavoured confectionery and they have done a very much interesting packaging design. Its a pillow pouch but the art involved was just amazing. It was classy coffee beans in the front and as the background, they have taken the wonders of the world like Taj Mahal, Eiffel Tower, etc with the dark coffee feel. I thought I should share the design with you all!

We come across different brands who spend a lot on branding and advertising but they dont get into the detailing like this and see how they can position themselves. But this company made their mark in the packaging itself. I am sure that they will have a good taste of communication if they decide to advertising.

Its time to think

It’s been quite sometime since I wrote the last blog. And I was thinking how mechanical we have become and we revolve around one single thing, ‘money’.

There are so many people say that they don’t go behind money. That means either they don’t want to take risk or don’t want to go further to earn more or else they are really happy with what they get.

From the childhood we are habituated to go behind money. We are getting into the schooling and trying to improve our habits which will show us really polished and we are trying to utilize all our talents and resources to get more money.

When we reach out to the completion of secondary school we start thinking about ‘career’. Apparently most of the times it is not something that we were passionate about but something that has better employment opportunities. When we choose the courses with better employment opportunities there the mechanical life starts.

We all know that the world is getting more competitive. Hence we are pushed to do more than what we do at each level. So we start slogging out on the earning opportunities. And we are ready to sacrifice few things that are really closer to our hearts.

The reality is we are doing so much to earn more money and live happy. But we completely forget that we loose so many things that can make us happy and at the end of it we have money but not able to enjoy the life as we wanted to.

We live a long life, earn so much and do so many achievements. But we should admit the fact that not all of us are living the life as we wanted. We are in the race with time and money and we forget that the life will never wait for us and it will move on its own pace.

We need to admit the fact that money is the most important aspect in our life. Some traditional philosophies might say that it’s a small part of out life but believe me friends. It’s the heart of our life. It’s too small in size but too much powerful and does all the tricks it can to keep us moving.

For our livelihood we require money in each and every stage. I remember the days when I used to travel for 75 paise for which I am paying 9 rupees now in 10 years.

Right from the early morning till the time we sleep, even when we sleep, we are in need of money.

But let us think about this my friends!
When we live, we work. We spend so much of time in earning money to make ourselves happy but we forget that we loose all our time and energy in getting that money and not able to feel the real happiness!

I would like to have your opinions on it!

Happines (Arun) Unlimited

I still remember the days when I and my friend used to visit Arun Unlimited. We both were working closeby and we used to meet up often there (both of us are crazy about chocolates and ice creams). We were enjoying a lot and I still remember those kiddish moments (after all everyone has a kid in themselves).

After me joining a different office I had not been to arun for a long time and I visited the same R.A.Puram Arun Unlimited after a very long time. Yesterday I had a meeting in R.A.Puram with a friend and we decided to celebrate the positive meeting with an ice cream (found a reason to ear ice cream).

As we all know Chennai roads are awesome on holidays (especially Sunday afternoons). We were very close to Arun Unlimited. We wanted to drop in for a scoop. So the bike automatically went on to the direction required.

As we enter, we started feeling so happy to see the flavours and a short discussion (?) about selecting flavours were happening. We were not confused but too many options available. Finally I took a choco almond and he took a Chocó vanilla. As we were eating (enjoying the mesmerizing melt) we realized that we are about to finish the ice cream. We felt really sad.

I started feeling so bad that its going to get over which made us to buy another scoop. I had a Red Indian and he had a fruit salad flavor. Hmmmmmmmmmm! (I have no words to explain the taste. So yummy).

The second scoop was getting over and I wanted to drag the happiness for some more time. I slowed down the eating and scooping process (you might think I am crazy, but its too good) and finally ended up with forty minutes of heaven.

A Rider's Voice

I was wondering how was it possible to make a road in a single day when there is a politician coming and at the same time it is so difficult to make a usual road.

The answer I got is "patch work".

I am seeing the chennai roads for more than 20 years and the scenario has not changed a lot to be frank. The roads are there but not in a proper form. Some places are really shabby for the past two decades.

There are some reasons (excuses) given by the authorities that the roads are made by contractors and the roads may get spoiled because of rains.

I have some questions in my mind and here they are;

Are the roads made properly?

Are they made up of quality products?

Is the process is quite fine?

If not what is the next plan we have?

If we notice the British period roads in Chennai, they are just fine. Then why not the new roads?

When there are some areas in the city have no issues on the roads, there are some areas where they hardly see a new road. Is it because of the VIP’s staying there?

Most of the road projects happens in the summer and they are getting spoiled in the rainy season. So shall we think of a new technology that will stand fine for all the seasons?

If the cost is the issue with the new technology implementation, isn’t it better to spend some more instead laying new roads every summer and patch working on every rainy season? As a result it will save money I guess!

I anticipate the new roads will be ready by February as the elections are approaching and the roads are going to be good as the elections are approaching.

Let us all think!

Its a rainy day!!!!!!

It was a Monday morning. It was raining so heavy but still had some work to be done. So got into my green rain coat and kick started my black panther (my regular readers know what it is). I was riding my bike on the road and I could notice that the roads are pretty much filled with vehicles and there were no school and college buses. It would have been amazing if it was a normal day without rains. But unfortunately it’s not.

The road had too much of damages and it was pretty much difficult to ride the bike. At the same time the traffic was relatively lesser. I was wondering why there is a need for holiday in schools and colleges on a heavy rain fall day.

· It is going to be really tough for the kids to commute as the roads are bad and the water is flooding everywhere.

· It is going to be unhealthy as there is a chance of decease spread across due to rain.

These are the two major reasons. Let us think the other way.

· If the roads are laid well then there is no problem for the kids

· If the waterways are maintained cleaner and stronger then the water will be flowing free and it will go to the respective destinations like sea, river, etc.

· If the city cleanliness is maintained properly then there is no need to worry about the deceases because of water blocks or heavy rains.

Will our Government bodies rethink on it?
